Just after some ideas/tips/suggestions for a girls birthday weekend away -

needs to be driving distance from London, somewhere picturesque would be nice as we all like a bit of photography and somewhere with a good nightlife, preferable trendy/arty rather than a teen meat market

and somewhere with random fun daytime stuff to do.....cheers

Bedfordshire

Cambridge is quite nice, plenty to do-shopping, dining, drinking. I'm sure there are day spas in the vicinity as well.

Not sure what other random daytime type stuff there is but I am sure you would be able to find loads of info about it online.

Can't beat Brighton! Not a million miles away and if the weathers good can always venture out further down the coast for some nice scenery in either direction! Some great bars too! Enjoy! xx

An interesting question to pose on a site such as this. The devil in me suggest Eureka, but to answer the question sensibly take your pick out of Cambridge, Oxford or Brighton, all have different qualities with plenty to do during the day and night. To match your criteria I'd say Brighton is the least pituresque and I prefer Oxford to Cambridge as you can also get to Stratford Upon Avon easily from there which is a truely nice place to go to, especially if the suns shining.
