I do love my curly hair (and love to see curls on others too) but jesus it can be a ball ache to tame sometimes.

Any new hair product recommendations from fellow members of the curly gang?

I've tried most of the usual suspects (and not a fan of Frizzese )

.

Have you tried the curly girl method? I don't really like my curls but they are looking extra curly and bounceable since doing it and my hair is now long. It involves using products that don't contain sulphates or silicone. Easier said than done but around week three/four you start seeing massive improvements.

I use the frizzese serum stuff, it seems to keep my hair under control. As time passes though, there's gradually less hair to care about so it will eventually become a mute point.

Shangri-la

Crazy curls here too. I've found regular coconut oil treatments definitely help make for more glossy defined curls & less frizz

I use mythic oil L'Oréal which helps but years of colouring, using straighteners and growing older have taken their toll. I just accept now that I'll never be able to leave it to dry naturally unless I'm staying in until I next wash it and always blow dry using my Babyliss big hair or rough dry and use straighteners and a hot brush. I keep it in good condition by always using heat protection, using a treatment weekly and using mythic oil too. I'm not a fan of frizzease products either, they've never eased my frizz.

We are talking head hair here aren’t we? I never straightened my pubes for fear of poking someone’s eye out

I thoroughly recommend looking into it. I've been doing it for nearly 8 years now and my curls are so much easier to look after!

I actually have the curly girl method book (and don't use it anymore) so if anyone wants it PM me and I'll happily send it to you

Paul Mitchell conditioner. It's a leave in type. Without it I look like Sideshow Bob. Before I discovered it I'd tried every frizz easing product I could find and they were all crap.

I found the John frieda dream curls spray quite good. Currently using a shock waves curl enhancing mousse. Yay for curls (yay) with much love to all who rock the straight hair look too

I use John Frieda oil for when i’m straightening it else it looks like I’ve had a huge electric shock haha

I also use Argan Oil spray if I’m using the blower, curler etc

Everyday stuff I use Aussie leave in tamer.

DO NOT TRY Aussie beach waves.... that seriously funks your hair up!!

My girls' 'fros are both very different. They had a hair consultation before Christmas and were recommended very different products.

I hope they work as the ritual Sunday detangling accompanied by much wailing and gnashing of teeth is tiresome!

Me too. Curly hair wasn't cool for my early youth, but then Olivia Newton John arrived with Grease

Let them grow into dreads.

If you've got curly hair, it might suit you.

I stopped trying to tame my curls years ago after the comb snapped (for the umpteenth time)
