How does one go about hiding their profile, and can you still message people but it shows your profile as offline?

Account - privacy settings - hide profile.

You don't show as offline but you're harder to find.

Under privacy it gives the option to hide your profile.

You can still message from a hidden profile.

It also offers it up when you go to delete your account.

Account page - privacy - hide profile

You can message anyone but you don't show as offline just people can't see you though though friends and those that have hotlisted you will see when you're online

And you don't show if people do a 'search' I think. Eg search for women aged 18-45, your profile wouldn't be be part of that search.

AFAIK, you can't view other profiles if yours is hidden?

Or is it local searches you can't do?

There are lots of reasons why someone might want to do it. The main one I see is because they want a break from fab but don’t want to delete their profile as they will lose all verifications and friends.

Many do this to prove their ‘devotion’ to another person

The script goes

‘I’ll hide my profile so no one can see me to message me ...’

In my case , I hide mine when I’ve had enough of the pick n mix sex site bollocks

It's not selfish to use the site as you nedd or want to, within site rules.

If someone is being hassled, stalked or finding things difficult etc, it's wise to take steps to support themselves.

I understand if one want to take a break but I saw 3 of them been active on forum? Stalked and Hassled get blocked or even reported. Kind of strange to me.

I know you can do what ever you want with your profile within rules of course, but it feels like freeloaders in party, coming in without nothing and use all the guest buffet...

Doesn't matter if mine is hidden or open. It's 99% bullshit. Assuming that people are honest on their profile is very naïve.

Anyone can look at profiles and you'd never know. They just use the privacy settings so they don't show on 'who looked at me'.

I hide my profile sometimes to try and clear my inbox, since there'll be no new people messaging you, but you can still stay in touch with fab friends. Or when i want a break. Nothing suspicious or sneaky about it x

Mines hid. I wouldn’t give a shit if it meant I couldn’t see others. I’m literally here to talk to my friends and occasionally post on the forum. If it wasn’t hid my profile would say very little and all the pics would be hid anyway as I don’t believe they are a true representation of me at the moment

It’s not selfish to hide a profile. Mine is hidden because I’m sick and tired of the dimwits on here who think it’s okay to send stupid, boring or abusive messages. I occasionally look at a profile if someone on a forum sounds interesting to me but it’s not often and I’ve messaged people while mine is hidden. I’ll run my profile how I see fit.
