I just read a bit about it on Google...not all deaf dogs are white but many dogs born deaf are predisposed to having white coats. Common in Dalmatians apparently

I had a Westie, she wasn't deaf and my white cat isn't either. I did know a neighbour with a deaf white boxer though.

Very common in the EBT, however, whilst out walking mine (when alive) we walked with another owner and her EBT just pretended to be deaf.

It wasn't, just didn't listen to her

I have a white cat which isn't deaf but when he was a kitten he had a tiny black patch on his head which has gone now. I believe all truly white cats are deaf.

Yes it’s when they have the pink coloured skin and pure white hair

Can’t remember exactly but I had a conversation awhile ago with my vet and it has something to do with a gene that white animals have....They are also prone to skin cancer something I didn’t know until my cat had it that’s why they advise you to use sun cream on white dogs/cats....

I have a white bulldog who has selective deafness. He can hear me open the biscuit jar but when I tell him to get off the sofa he pretends like he can’t hear me.

Don’t trust the sneaky bastards

We used to have a Samoyed, pure white, as are the entire breed, never met a deaf one.

They are also one of the oldest and purest breeds - originally used to herd reindeer, which wouldnt have been much use if they were deaf

I heard dalmatians do have a predisposition to deafness, something to do with breeding and genetics.
