Has anybody got a hi 8 camcorder have come across some cassettes we made but don't have a player to play it on to copy them to card

I expect you'll be able to get it copied to digital in a camera shop. Unless it's of a saucy nature.

That IS our video recorder! Haven’t used it for years and had the cassettes transfered to dvd

Ha .

This brings back an unpleasant memory.

Twenty odd years ago we bought a super eight video camera and recorded everything.

We ,as most surely others did,filmed ourselves having sex.

When we watched it later it was awful,really awful .

So I recorded over it by filming around my grandparents farm .

Then like an idiot I showed them the video of their farm ,which was pointless .

No one told me that if you record over something that each time you stop and start recording over the previous recording a few seconds of the previous stays put.

They were having their tea,C was sat across the table ,and to my utter shock something totally unexpected and utterly hideous appeared albeit briefly,on the screen.

I froze and looked at C who's mouth was open in shock .

I turned slowly to look at my aging grandparents and they seemed to find their tea really interesting.

We never knew if they had seen what we saw .

That happened on a friend's wedding tape. The cameraman was dating Debee Ashby at the time - they ended up with a homemade shag movie, interspersed with nuptuals.

I've got an original 8mm and a Digital8 in the loft - but not Hi-8
