I have noticed that retro gaming is everywhere these days.. Who else enjoyes playing the old games from our childhood being either the atari 2600 or c64 or early Sega systems

I have 4 set ups, a replica gameboy with a raspberry zero inside, an original c64 breadbin with a raspberry pi 3 inside, a stand alone raspberry pi 3 set up and a beautiful arcade bar top for the old arcade games.

I was born in 76 so remember atari and the zx spectrum but my dad had these it wasn't till the mid 80s when I got own c64 which I still have the outrun and operation wolf games on cassette...they was my favourite games from my days in Spain playing them on the arcade.

Once I have finished rebuilding the c64 I will install a pi 3 in the old zx spectrum machine I have.

Why are you installing the raspberry pi into them? Isn’t half the fun getting the original systems up and running?

I agree always wanted to get a c64 with the cassette deck but then you have to find all the games, I only have 2 of them. The retropie set up is much easier, cheaper, loading faster (and without errors) and still see the loading screen and music for all the old vintage goodness.

The spectrum already had the pi inside but is now the first one and is no good. The c64 was a non working machine so I didn't feel any guilt taking the board out.. But need a another small board so I can connect the keyboard to the pi

My attic is full of game consoles. Ranging from the origial Atari to a PS3. Including rare and imorted Xbox consoles.

All belonged to my ex and our sons.

My son is a game developer, he is working on some uber cool shit but his favourite game ever to play is Spyro on the PS2... He has that set up and and an original NES for Mario

I love retro gaming!

I've got my trusty SNES and PS1 set up always, and also an N64, PS2, and NES ready to plug in.

SNES is my absolute favourite, though

Cool I think my cousin's son wants to be a game developer. Never really played the Nintendo at all but did have the original gameboy when I was at school

Love all things retro gaming. I was lucky to see it from the "Pong" days, Space Invaders, Defender, ZX81 and with my first job savings...a BBC micro (great Basic to learning programming). Moving onto the Mega Drive, PS1 and 2, Dreamcast and PC. Id games specially on the pc which still have a "retro" feel like Doom, Quake and Rage.

For creating your own retro games, The Games Factory development tool was excellent.

Yer just something special about outrun, played many games on the arcade.. But this was the one me and my dad put the most coins in to and we was in Spain. Back home my dad brought the game for the c64 and it was such an amazing feeling.. And when I brught the same (large box 2 tapes) off ebay I felt that same feeling again

I think like movies and music games and the systems can also take you back to your childhood

I'm an Amiga fan, have a A1200, 2x CD32's one with FMV cartridge. Old Speccky 128k+2 and a +3, 48k, Atari 2600, when we move going to get them all working again and setup permanently to use. Going to buy (if can't fix SX1) expansion for CD32's to use Flash card for games instead of disk drive.
