Most of the teachings of jesus are nonsense, obvious or pointless. The sermon on the mount is terrible.

"Let he without sin cast the first stone."

A very powerful quote.

I'm watching The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965). My mum was a Catholic and I can remember seeing it with her when I was a child . Just remembering her and the quotes she frequently said.

The Pythons mocked the blind faithful and never the actual words of Jesus.

My parents are deeply religious especially my father and he's very knowledgeable on the scriptures. He regularly quotes the bible and we've had some strong disagreements on the subject but that particular quote is one I very much agree with even if I don't hold to it all the time myself.

I am a non believer but had a Christian upbringing by two very kind parents . I'm not unsympathetic to the good words of a very powerful historic figure.

""Blessed are the cheese makers.""

It's not meant to be taken literally, it refers to all manufacturers of dairy products

Ian Dury was one asked if he believed in God. He said "I believe in good which I think is really the same thing.". I believe there's a right and a wrong thing to do and that helping others is right and hurting others is wrong. I mistrust all organised religion because I mistrust people and it's all man made.

There is no direct evidence he actually existed. There is a growing number of scholars who think he may not have been a real person. Look up some talks by Dr Richard Carrier on YouTube for more.

I don't pay any attention to Jesus. I don't think his teachings are nearly as wise as cultural biases would have us believe.

The idea that he died for our sins is just horrible.

I think it's his utter failure to write anything himself.

And therefore nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus.

It's at the start of Lot and Sodom and Gommorah. Shortly before Lot's daughters get him d*unk and sleep with him.

Actually there is nothing in the teachings told in the name of Jesus that are not covered in the 10 rules attributed to Moses, though he was just doodling and repeated himself a bit much, could have summed it up as 'be excellent to each other' or 'dont be a git'

No so much teachings, but my favourite Jesus story is the one where the Roman Centurion demonstrates his faith in Jesus' ability to heal his servant.

I don't believe in all that religious stuff but I think the story is a good illustration of what faith really is.

In the real world, the majority of our faith - if we have any - is misplaced.
