Den of Iniquity

So I visited my Aunt yesterday , and her son was in his room with his " music " on .

I had to go and ask him wtf was he listening to!!

It was basically some bloke just talking really fast over virtually no music whatsoever .

I asked him what the bloodyhell was that.

His reply was " Its me drill thing innit "

After leaving the room still none the wider I decided to google " drill thing innit " .

Turns out it's a kind of new " music " .

I use the term music very loosely of course as to me it sounded like some guy talking to himself with a 3 year old kid in the background randomly hitting a drum with a Sledgehammer.

I am officially now old and out of touch with the yoof .

The End.

Hope you gave him a clip round the earlobe, pulled his pants up and gave him so good old Burt Bacharach to listen too!

I have boycotted radio 1, I just don't understand it....Listening to the songs sounding the same and repetitive lyrics of "you want it, you got it" ad infinitum

You thought R1 was all samey, try listening to the Korean stuff!! & their pop videos are full of androgenous teenagers, all a bit too much for us i'm afraid...

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

I think I must have had some kind of musical influence on my youngest daughter. Years ago, when she was 6 or 7, a band were playing in our village pub. The drummer is a friend of mine, so I took the family to watch.

During the interval, my daughter went up to the guitarist and asked him if he could play Black Night, by Deep Purple.

About 10 years later, she was doing her college homework and was playing music. I asked her what she was playing, as I loved it. She flipped and went into a big sulk, because apparently dads aren't supposed to like the music kids play. She was playing Rammstein

Oh I gave a student a lift last year and let him choose the music. I picked this racket, full of gang violence and objectifying women.

I put vampire weekend on and we had a chat about acceptable attitudes towards women
