I know Star Wars has its true dedicated legions, it’s casual followers and it’s haters but omg my 42 years and my spiritual journey has completed to the point of these films.

Yes am the first group the addicted followers reading books, games, films, tv shows, mange etc etc of and my love of all the music from all areas especially John Williams.

Due to nights I was upset to miss the premiere night showings so finally seen is Sunday and wow, I went through so many emotions and feelings I laughed, I was shocked and I also cried like a baby. I thought rdj saying love you 3000 was bad but omfg this film tugged and pulled at my soul and heart lol.

Yes like a true follower there have been issues with plots or choices but I went with them and to fix these issues in my mind I read the link books and other sources so I could enjoy them.

I know there will be people who will agree and haters who won’t but I loved every second ( after month of nights and doing 60hrs this week and only 3 hrs sleep post) I was worried I’d be too tired to enjoy it, but that vanished the minute they showed footage of old cast doing takes and stuff.

I feel the journey I entered into the yr I was born and followed has been completed and I now look forward to the future direction and adventures of the Star Wars lore.

Yeah that includes the amazing mandalorian series and the ever cute and lovable baby yoda haha

May the force be with you

You know it’s just a series of films right?

I can’t really give an opinion....I’ve never seen a single star wars film

I watched this in Imax3D and just thought it was stunning.

Loved the homages to the original films and characters (Leia training)

Loved it...Cried like a baby when Ben evaporated, I knew he was a Jedi really

The on screen action was great.

I felt it was all a bit empty though.

6/10 but very entertaining.

So much better than that disaster so maybe missed out on being the best it could be due to the last jedi disaster causing it to fix the shite but i give 8.5/10

I will add that I loved Force Awakens - that got close to Empire as my favourite of the films.

I was just left rolling my eyes at a few of the choices made by the director.

It wasn't terrible but it wasn't amazing either

And continually bringing characters back to life just makes the whole venture seem a bit pointless to me

Saying this as a long term SW fan

I (Luke) have been a Star Wars nut since I was a child. I was 10 when ROTJ came out.

I don't love the films just because they are Star Wars. They have to hit the spot and not just rely on the brand name.

I have been very disappointed by the new trilogy so far. Episode 7 was and unnecessary remake of episode 4. Episode 8 had some strange plot choices, with one big pointless plot thread, and didn't really advance the story.

We're off to see episode 9 this evening, but it's out of curiosity rather than the expectation of enjoying it. I'm sure it will be a visual feast but I doubt the story will be great or even coherent. I don't rate JJ Abrams as a film-maker.

It's a trilogy with a lot of lesser films attached to it.

It's not a religion, either.

It's entertainment and it makes people feel good. That really is all it is - and there's nothing wrong with that.

I watched Jumanji the week before, I was disappointed, but I was expecting too much, it is really aimed at a younger audience.

It was entertaining, I am not slating it. I still had the original in my head and it didn't match up with what I expected. It was based on a video game, which is more this decade than the decade in my head

Hiding in the shadows

Went to see it on Saturday with one of my sons

We loved it

I missed about 10minutes, can only do 2hrs parking by the cinema so I had to dash out & stick another ticket in my car.

My other son was at a party, so luckily I get to re watch it next week with him

They have brought it up to date that's all. Nothing wrong with the film, just didn't match what I had in my head from the original.

Hefty Hideaway

I've watched it 3 times since Thursday. The first time I cried all the way from the 'behind the scenes' video at the beginning to the end of the credits. It was a really beautiful end to the saga and cemented my love.

If you don't think about it, it's an OK movie. If you take a few seconds to just think, it all falls apart.

Most of that is due to having to correct horrible choices made in the last jedi. It had too much to do. They went over the top with fan service trying to correct things.

I won't destroy the plot due to spoilers since not everyone will have seen it. But it was just bad story telling, even for the cheesy (which I love) vibe that is star wars.

Hell, they even went for the "I am inevitable" "and I am Iron man" moment from end game but it failed to have the same emotional weight to it.

We went to see it and it didn't make a lot of sense. There were so many inexplicable things in it, like where the hell did the emperor come from? This is never explained. Doing that just means they can bring him back whenever they want and we shouldn't consider him dead now.

There now seem to be no limits on what the Force can do. Rey just demonstrated she can do anything without really trying and the idea she was "training" was laughable. The plot was bizarre.

Visually and sonically it was as impressive as you would expect but that didn't save the dreadful plot.

I have loved Star Wars for almost all of my life. I will be pretending this trilogy doesn't exist other than as a curiosity, much like the prequels.
