Unsolicited Friend Requests....why send them?

Has anything positive ever come from an unsolicited friend request? Have you ever received one and thought yesss i’ll get involved here?

Do you send unsolicited friend requests? You’ve never messaged the person to introduce yourself properly but friend requested anyway.

Is it annoying? Attention appreciated?

We don't get them since moving all our friends pics to private.

problem solved

before that though we'd do what many others do, wait till they are offline, accept, have a nose then delete unless they looked genuine, but they rarely are..

I only accept those from people I've met in person/will soon meet in person since my face photos are friends only.

I delete all of the others.

I accept some, look at their friends only pics then unfriend them.

I get quite a few of these from people I've never even spoken to. I just assume it's because they want to see my friends pics. I've never accepted one. To me, my friends list is for my friends

I do this too! I wait until they're offline though.

If they only have public pics on their profile I assume they do it just because they want to see my private gallery without going to the effort of starting a conversation first. Which means instant block, obviously.

I've never sent one and I don't accept unless I've met or going to meet, the rest I leave as they can't send another one for a wee while
