Happily I found a couple of Rush fans lurking around here last night and I'm hoping there's a few more. So I thought I'd start a thread for us.

Tell us your favourite album and track or any concerts you've been to. Maligned though it is my favourite of theirs is "Caress of Steel". A favourite track is harder but if pushed "Closer to the Heart".

Looking forward to hearing yours

Couldn’t learn any simple songs when I started drumming, so the first song I ever learned was YYZ!

My parents went to a Dire Straits concert like 20 days before I was born so I’m technically counting that as me seeing them live haha. I met Mark at a university lecture once too, nice guy

I have a couple of Rush albums, although I've never seen them live, but I bet Doc could probably tell you every track they've ever done

Big hero of mine. I never, ever get tired of watching him play.

One of the bands I played in did a few Rush covers. When ‘Signals’ came out, there was a special playing of the album in the Planeterium in London, complete with lazer light show. I remember getting slightly stoned, lying back staring into Space, and getting lost in the music.

They played Dublin maybe a few years back, the show with the huge washing machines on stage.

Seen three times and the last was on the R30 tour and I got a front fow ticket on ebay at Birmingham NEC. Only front row was able to get up.. It was all seating?! And I was 6ft away from Alex. My guitar hero. I could have seen two more times but didn't as I was never going to top that.

Fave album is All the world's a stage as I have that on a rare three gatefold vinyl. I bought it from a mate when I was a kid for £1 and loved it. Then Exit stage left was the one I really got into. First album I bought myself.

Live version's of By tor and snow dog or In the end are my faves.

Cool lots of other rush fans..

My favourite band of all time. Sadly only saw them the once, back in 1980 at Deesside Leisure Centre on a melting Ice Rink. Permanent Waves Tour.

My favourite album is probably the first one I heard that started the love affair - Farewell to Kings - but it is hard to choose amongst all of them round that time.

Love rush.....

Fav album is counterparts ...good to hear them go back to their roots.

The pass from presto is my fav Rush track...although ,it took me ages to decide on a favourite....

Alex lifeson is my favourite guitarist ..reason for it is this......I can hear most guitarists influences .ie I can hear a Jeff beck influence inDave Gilmore's playing and can hear jimi hendrix's influence in a lot of players...etc etc....Alex lifeson sounds like Alex lifeson ...

So appreciate everyone's posts, keep them coming. There's a fantastic episode of Trailer Park Boys that Alex Lifeson appears in, I think the creators said its their favourite episode. I found a clip on YouTube of Rush performing Closer to the Heart with Bubbles from the show and Ed from the Barenaked Ladies. Possibly the most Canadian thing that's ever happened

Look at this too where they are dining at a hunting lodge to see their sense of humour, particularly Alex.

Fly By Night which I was introduced to by Whispering Bob Harris when he played a track on OGWT back in '75, I rushed out and bought a copy from Boots Record Dept the following Saturday, I still have that copy.

Live was in summer '77 at Sheffield City Hall with Stray as support band.

Rush came on, started playing and blew the electrics.
