I once DJ´d for a reception - the dance was 'ít´s my party I´ll cry if I want to'

I was booked by the best man because he knew I would play it - The bride was many months pregnant and very much showing, the bride was unsure if it was her husbands or the best mans she was carrying and what neither bride or groom knew was that the baest man had been sleeping with both of them.

A great if 'alternative' party and that song set the tone perfectly...

We'd met up with our DJ the week before our wedding to give him our cd with our wedding song on, which was Dido "Thank you". Dido was the first ever album we bought together so it meant alot to us.

On our wedding night some douchy woman turned up in the DJ's stead, without our CD! She gave us the choice of all the usual suspects and we chose one out of the bunch to dance to. Can't even remember which it was now, something bolloxy! We've had this conversation a few times and neither of us can actually remember what song we had our first dance to. Bearing in mind we were rather tipsy at this point lol.

Not only that she wouldn't play anything I requested, saying that the oldies wouldn't be pleased. Err, hello, bride here! So felt like giving her an ear bashing but didn't want to get wound up on my wedding day so I let it ride.

Ahhhhhhh such good memories (shame the marriage didn’t last as we had such good taste in music ... didn't we???)
