Just a reminder that the government hasn't finished with 'austerity' and there continues to be an increasing demand for assistance by the less fortunate in society from foodbanks.
Please consider giving a little of your time, some money or some groceries (in person at your local food bank or via the collection point in most large supermarkets).
What tends to be needed:
Long-life milk, fruit juice, tinned vegetables, instant mashed potato, rice pudding, tinned pasta, sponge pudding, tinned or carton custard, washing up liquid, rice pudding, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, tampons and sanitary pads,
What is generally in good supply:
Pasta, pulses, beans and soups.
Also please don't forget the homeless at this time of year; a cash gift to The salvation Army or St. Mungo's (other homeless charities are available in other areas) can make a big difference to how the homeless spend Christmas Day and winter nights.
A big thank you, in anticipation, to everyone that everyone that directs even a couple of Pounds towards these worthwhile causes.
Best Wishes for Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to you all.
