I know that it’s a good idea to have protein to repair damaged muscles and carbs a day before training to provide energy. I’m sure people on here will have good diet advice.

What tips can you give me please?

Thanks in advance.

Haha me too, that’s probably where I’m going wrong.

So before the gym a lot of carbs, a small amount of protein and a good chunk of healthy fats.

After the gym, lots of lean protein with loads of veg and little carbs.

This is if like me you train at night.

After a workout if you go pretty hard id say the typical post work out meal as stated above but before that its a good idea to replace the sugars and electrolytes you loose when really exhorting yourself. Some mixed fruit id say or if in a rush ones of the drinks like a gatoraid ect

I have a dairy free protein shake (whey gives me awful stomach cramps!) and a banana right after then usually have fish and veg for my dinner.

Cake. Really feels like you've earned it after a good session.
