Im having a trainee tattoist perform their 1st human tattoo at the weekend bless em. Theyre more nervous than me about it. Its only a small logo im having so not too much for them. Who would let a learner loose on them. Everyone has to start somewhere

Brighton - even Hove!

I’d let them start with a dot.

Sorry no

You can't just wash off a tat if it goes wrong and all my tats have meaning to me.

I'm having my next one in Florida but I'll still be looking to see the artist has a style I like and experience

I've had two apprentices do their first tattoos on me. Both on my thighs where they could be hidden. They did an amazing job.

Hiding in the shadows

I had my first tattoo at 15, my friends brother did it.

He had some awesome ink.

What I didn't know was he'd never done anyone before

I've spent years being asked who Andy is!

It'll be part of my next cover up!

They are being watched over by an excellent artist who has awards from all over gb and also vegas conventions, so in safe hands. Theyve also been practicing for a few months on fake life like skin etc.

Then enjoy.

There are many things where I am happy to be a bunny for, even if they have no experience. Tats just are not in that list.

As part of their training they would have practiced hundreds of times before being let loose on a person. If they are being observed as you said too then I’d be cool with that. Have you seen any of their work? I’m being inked this Thursday and I can’t wait!

Ive seen the work theyve done on the fake skin, and even certsin fruits resemble skin in texture and theyve done them. That was also to get them used to working

On something that wasnt flat and what theyve done looks fine. Obviously needs a bit more finess but as i say its only a basic logo in 2 colours im having

It's a no from me but then I'm fussy about who tattoos me.

I have a really bad tattoo from a so called experienced artist so I'd not let a trainee near me

Quite a few of mine are by trainees/apprentices who have done a pretty good job. It's also cool to see how their work develops over time.

Had it done and shes made a brilliant job of it. Even her mentor said hes seen worse off people whove been in trade for years.

I have one tattoo, and that was done by a lad who was training. He did a few of my mates the same day too. He now has his own shop and a 6 month waiting list!!!!

Cheshire, Windermere ,Cumbria

Wills were all done by free hand (not sketched first) by a graffiti artist all look amazing, just gave him the ideas and he tattooed what he thought

Probably just nothing too big or intricate.

Most of my tattoos are just drawn straight on with a sharpie pen and then tattooed over. I just let the artist do his thing rather than trying to micromanage every detail.

Nope. Shit tattoos are awful so I wouldn't risk it, if I wanted a good one I'd go to an experienced artist.

It came out really well. The girl didnt even have to ask for advice from the resident artist. Ive seen worse done by experienced people
