Sad way for Barney to retire, I hoped he'd make it to the quarters at least and go head held high.

Agreed but he got the ending to his career that he deserved based on the way he approached his last year.

One cannot constantly bugger off on holiday, not practice, turn up just hours before you’re due on stage and still expect to perform as well as the committed professionals you are playing against.

Sport can be much like fab, effort in equals rewards out

I always liked Barney he dominated darts when he played in the BDO 4 times a world champion.A lot tougher in the PDC 1 time world champion but was always a top 10 player up until the last 3-4 years.If it wasn’t for Barney making the breakthrough I wonder how many non British darts players there would be.
