Never a skinhead but big fan of Two Tone/ska music and more mainstream punk - oi never did a great deal for me though

My bf used to sing in a punk covers band. Got a great pic of him next to Malcolm McLaren's grave. Me, I'm an old hippy but I've got a soft spot for the Buzzcocks.

"A here: love a bit of punk and a bit of oi, put it on sometimes and the family hate it

Back in the day:

Dead Kennedys

Dickies

Sex Pistols (obvs)

Damned

Exploited

Sham 69

Clash (obvs)

Angelic Upstarts

SLF

Gen X

Although we went to see Motorhead a few years ago and there were a bunch of old punk bands supporting and I was a bit 'meh'.

The kids aren't angry enough nowadays, they all listen to folk singers and duff duff music: it may have something to do with there no longer being lead in household paint anymore

Got to be the exploited off that list.

Skinhead to scooter skin me. Still to this day even outdated views still believe and still anti establishment. Brought up in a time leaving school 3.5 million unemployed poverty not much has changed. But as a bad boy and the odds against me and my generation we still did good. These songs and being part of something i feel gave us the strenth to do better against all the odds. So punk/skinhead/io and everything in between i thankyou

Never done a rally abroad, haven't done the IOW since the 80's so looking forward to it.. the last few August bank holidays we've gone to Belfast to watch SLF, thought we'd have a change this year.
