So I watched a documentary about the values of going completely plant based.

What do you think?

Perhaps you're against it or for it so why for either?

Debate

The best Vegans take supplements daily. If a diet you eat requires you to take a lifetime supply of supplements to survive then it is not balanced.

Depends on why you think being a vegan is a good idea.

All this bollocks about carbon emissions is wrong when it comes to meat

How much carbon is produced growing transporting and converting plant based proteins to look and taste like meat is a joke

Not to mention how much land in southern America is being cleared to grow these plants

I think it's honorable, but not healthy.

Everything in moderation, as always.

Here is the thing, while I'm not an eco warrior, save the planet hippy, I do care about animals and the way they are treated. I do a few things to help out the planet etc. I still eat meat.

However the vast majority of vegans, especially the sudden rise of it is nothing but a trend. Jumping on the bandwagon because it is suddenly "cool" they aren't doing it to be healthy, or save the planet, or for animals rights etc they are doing it because their false idol they worship on Instagram decided to do it as a publicity grab, so it is suddenly the thing to do. As soon as it is no longer cool or trendy they won't continue, unlike those that have actual principles and beliefs in why they are doing it.

Lots of us should be eating healthier no doubt, but the vegan trend is exactly that, a trend.

There seems to be a lot of ignorance about vegans and the good it can do you as a human and good for the planet. Some comments seem to ill informed.

Im vegan as it helps with my weight.

I monitor everything i eat on an app and keep a close eye on my nutrient intake.

Its not the meat trade thats the problem, its the greed of western society. All this forest clearing etc problems goes along with any product, meat, veg, clothing, etc..

Oh and we do eat far too much meat. We are not designed by mother nature to eat the type of meat we do and the amount.

We are built like other great apes, especially the chimp. All great primates are omnivores but they eat about 95% plant and only 5% meat such as insects and small mammals. Our diet should be similar.

I ate an Isle of Wight brown crab tonight. Delicious.

Plenty of them, gives someone a job catching them, packed full of goodness. Why deny yourself pleasures like that?

Hiding from twats

I haven't eaten meat in nearly 30 years, and no dairy for about the last 10 years (and only occasionally before then as it sets off my migraines). I have my own chickens for eggs, I'd never eat shop bought eggs or anything containing egg. My nan told me I'd waste away, definitely don't have that issue

Thats far from a pleasure for me. I gave up meat as i cant deal with the thought it was an animal. I think i would vommit if i accidently ate some. To me meat is as disgusting as eating poo or your own pet.

Each to our own. You enjoy meat, i dont, but we arent all the same and we can live as we chose without questioning with mockery as to why someone would be vegan

On the same level then vegan activists shouldnt protest outside butchers and in restaurants while people are eating

My opinion for what it's worth, is it's their choice and I respect it.

If you eat meat and have never had to butcher or hunt for food, then perhaps you should. It's a little bit hypocritical to advocate it yet not wanting to be implicit in its sourcing?

any focused diet is bad for you, mix it up and avoid artificial stuff as far as possible.

Environmental arguments are not fact, except if we kill all the cows then we can breed more people! Also I like cows, sheep, and pigs that are farmed free range they have a great impact on most wildlife (except badgers). Carrot farmers kill everything that moves

The industrialized food processing industry is horrible to animals,a diet encompassing more plant based foods is probably better from health perspective, both for us n the planet, and how halal butchery is allowed in this country I'll never know

I'm not against it, people can eat what they like as long as they're not preaching to me what I should be eating.

I don't eat a lot of meat, but I won't be giving up what I do eat.

Do your own research, raise your own consciousness and act accordingly to where you are at.. in alignment with your own capacity and will.

Its great to be inspired by others and I always feel its worth knowing that what we choose to do or not do with our short time here on this planet has an impact.

And perhaps don't expect others to be in the same place as you, wherever that is.

The important thing is that we all hold a torch for one thing at least.
