'I've got more years behind me than in front'

When people say that, I always wonder what day the half way point was. I'm 62, so if I live to 80 (which is highly unlikely!), my halfway point was some day 22 years ago.

Would you want to know exactly what date?

When I hear about someone in their sixties snuffing it I panic a bit..... but not for long.

My dad was 84 and most people seem to go at the 80 or 82 mark.

I know I have to make the BEST of the years I have left.

Not really. Ignorance is bliss. Yes i could pre plan stuff etc but i wouldn’t enjoy the time i had left with those i loved because i’d be worrying about carking it a week on Wednesday, just before the bins need to go out.

No one knows where the half way mark is I’ve had relatives life well into 80s and good friends die before 30. One of my cousins died of a brain tumour at 10yrs old. Live every day like it’s ya last.

You can do no more and I empathise. My father is mid nineties. I know every time I see him could be the last but I don't want our time together clouded by that so we continue as if we're both immortal

I don't want to know. I just hope my mind doesn't fail me when I'm older, like it did to my grandparents.

No I wouldn't want to know. I try to make the most of my life anyway.

You never know what could happen. I'm already older than my aunt was when she died, my parents are in their 70s and doing well and my gran is in her 90s and still fit and healthy, if rather eccentric.

I'm hoping to follow in my grans footsteps.
