Decoding a woman's mind. Part 1

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Men have a tendency to say what they mean; very black and white. Women have much more grey area with shades of rainbow. Trying to Understand the difference between what a woman says and what she actually means is no easy feat.

So I thought I will start a series on 'Decoding woman's mind', which will help us all men to understand women better and perhaps enable us to be a better lovers.

So the first word we are going to talk about is 'Fine'. When a guy says fine, it means fine. But if a woman says 'FINE', there is more to it. What does it mean when a woman say - FINE?

Appreciate comments from men and women!

You can tell what a woman is thinking by looking at their feet.

If one of them is rapidly moving towards your crotch, it means they don't like you

Are you kidding? No man I know is like that. Tend to say nothing and keep it in is what I find. Whereas women want to talk about it. No all obviously.

I thought I will share my experience with the word 'FINE'.

The four letter word she uses during an argument, just to get you to shut the fuck up. This doesn't mean you won the aforementioned argument; It's just buying her time to plan her retaliation. When she says 'FINE' it's time for you to start worrying. Go to the gift shop, maybe buy her something nice. When she finally decides that she wants to continue this argument, it will be shit storm, she will win, and you will have nowhere to hide.

I have found that the problem lies with people just not talking properly to each other. There's nothing to decide, just talk!

I’m going to the pub

Ok that’s fine

That means it’s not fine

No. Honestly it’s fine. You go, go on

Note - it really isn’t fine.

'Fine' never means anything good.

It usualy means they either want to rip your bollocks off, or cry..

You just have to work out which it is...

"Her body language and tone of voice will give you a clue."

This. If in a tone that indicates either irritation or disinterest then the lady in question isn't fine at all, but is either A) biting her tongue, B ) responding with disbelief that you are asking a question to which the negative answer should in her opinion be obvious or is C) being sarcastic.

In most of these occasions the lady will find it foolish of you that you can't figure the answer out from recent events PLUS her body language and demeanour. Men don't notice these latter especially as easily as women which is why from a woman's perspective the question being asked in the first place is one only an idiot would ask, when in fact it's just one asked due to men communicating differently.

It works the other way too of course. If a woman asks a man if he is ok and he replies that he is fine, he means more often than not that he actually IS fine. The woman from her perspective will instead of taking it at the face value it is intended, mistakenly then spend time searching for other signs indicating his true feelings that often aren't there and when she can't find any will often ask the question a second or third time. This will lead the man to believe that she is angling to get some other response out of him and find her doing so irritating at times.

The whole thing is silly really, but it's just a general difference between the majority of the sexes.

When I say something is fine, I mean it's absolutely ok, no problem, doesn't bother me one bit, happy for you to do that etc. If it's not ok, I have no issues with stating that using my big words or writing it in crayon if necessary.

Not all women think purely with emotion. Many of us can be just as, or more logical than men.

Unfortunately, preconceived judgement from a misogynistic perspective prevents most men from actually understanding what women mean.

This will lead the man to believe that she is angling to get some other response out of him and find her doing so irritating at times.

The whole thing is silly really, but it's just a general difference between the majority of the sexes.

B"

Men and women really are wi_ed differently and this is something I appreciate. Even if it causes some confusion, certainly keeps things interesting!

"It also depends on the woman. I have come from a controlling marriage where my opintion wasnt valued and it was better to say everything was fine!

I am a tad more outspoken with MrD...he knows where I stand most of the time and sure he actively encourages me to speak up! Just doin' as I was told so

Sorry to hear about your past. Glad you have met someone, were you could be yourself. "

"I know this thread is tongue in cheek but do people genuinely still think that men can't understand women?

Some men are quite thick like me!

I meant thick in the head! Not down!

In my case I am thick, up and down!

I don't think you're thick.

Upstairs or downstairs.

One of them is correct! I

Ok, I don't think you're stupid I can't comment on anything else.

I think you and a lot of men assume they won't understand a woman's mind and a lot of women are happy to reinforce that.

You are one smart women! I missed chatting to you.

Smooth move and you claim you don't understand woman. Methinks though doth protest too much

"When I say something is fine, I mean it's absolutely ok, no problem, doesn't bother me one bit, happy for you to do that etc.

Wow.. you are a woman of wisdom!

And I must admit you are gorgeous. I wish I were your mirror. I could watch you looking at me every morning! "

Wisdom comes from experience. I see no point in not saying exactly what I mean because that leads to ambiguity and misunderstandings.

I'm perfectly entitled to go to the pub (or anywhere else) myself if I wish so why would I want to interfere with someone else's autonomy and decision to go out unless there is good reason?

Life's like a pantomime

Women say they don't want you to see your cock.

What they are really saying is ..they don't want you to know they actually want to see your cock.

And if you play your part well....then you get to show them your cock....

"Men have a tendency to say what they mean; very black and white.

Easiest way to not misinterpret what she is saying is by not taking ypur dick out of her mouth so she has no chance of saying anything.

I don't get women at all either tbh and have happily spent my life around men but the one main difference that I have noticed is that men retreat when talking to ladies about anything emotional whereas women like to talk about emotional things ... this behaviour falls down greatly and quite frankly I find it really annoying when saying something important to me (doesn't happen very often I'm not much of an emotional talker) and when to a man I know they've switched off! Annoying and I just leave

I think I understand your perspective and reasoning a little better now. Everyone has probably looked at porn but some people would deny it if asked. I concur.

I'm looking at it from a different focus.

"..they don't want you to know they actually want to see your cock."

My view on this initial statement is that if I say I'm not interested in something, I'm truly not interested. There's no hidden meaning, no games. Why be dishonest? If I want to see something, I'll ask to see. Using cocks as an example, males want to show them off far more than I want to see them.

You are one of the exceptions...but generalising, men want to show their Cocks because they have worked out that women actually like to see them...but women ( generaly) don't want to say so...hence the pantomime ...why do you think so many men on here have several dick pic's in their profile....even though they keep getting told by women..."put it away..we don't want to see them"... it helps them get laid..

This is all about courtship..

Of course not everyone is the same I am only making a general observation.

If I say 'fine'I will mean that's it's fine, whatever it is.

If a woman says fine to you and you're left with a feeling of ambiguity as to whether that's what she means or not.. ask for clarity.

Simps.

Oh and it's not your job to 'decode a woman's mind' ... just listen to her and know your own.

Whatever. It's not worth arguing. I don't care or we can revisit this.

The key is to work on communication so you don't have to resort to 'fine'.

"Men have a tendency to say what they mean; very black and white. Women have much more grey area with shades of rainbow. Trying to Understand the difference between what a woman says and what she actually means is no easy feat.

Good luck with strageist creatures that ever walked the earth lol but love them all

" ... though they keep getting told by women..."put it away..we don't want to see them"... it helps them get laid..

This is all about courtship..

Of course not everyone is the same I am only making a general observation.

Totally disagree ... of all the ladies I've talked to on here its actually the exception that likes having them shown to us or likes seeing them in abundance! Men like showing them because they all love their dicks quite rightly so. I like them in person but don't want to look at pics of them at all ... it's boring and not attractive

That's the point I'm trying to make... people DON'T admit to it...that's why it's a pantomime...but men know that secretly women do want to see the goods....or the 1000s of men on here with their dick out pic's wouldn't get anywhere... it's your subconscious.... for the men it's peacocking and women are playing coy.... it is the courting ritual...

Erm no. Men have many many attractive bits that I'd like to see. The penis is not one of them. If someone shows me theirs unsolicited. I think they lack respect and manners and wouldn't pursue the conversation any more. Most women I know are the same.

I mean....continue believing that you are correct if you want to, but that's the way I feel.

I like this woman. She is full of class!

Do you think I can take you out on a dinner date? I guarantee that I will behave! "
