As a kid I grew up watching things like laurel & hardy, Marx brothers, Casey Jones, champion the wonder horse, the Forrest rangers, fireball XL5, and others.. The great Ealing comedies

Everything was black and white until mum saved up enough money to join the colour TV revolution.

Favourite Programmes made in black and white were early Norman wisdom films, still watch them now

I remember an old adventure series that I watched as a kid, The Perils Of Nyoka.

I bought it on DVD a few years ago, but got bored with it half way thru

Also agree that Laurel & Hardy and some of the Ealing comedies are timeless

. I believe that comment was made by the great Ted Lowe.Snooker became really popular with colour tv all of a sudden all those coloured balls on the tables and some of those shirts Alex Higgins wore

I found the singing ringing tree on t'internet a while ago. Very weird, the director was a very disturbed person!

It's a wonderful life,my go to movie every Xmas.

Spent a few hours last weekend watching various laurel and Hardy movie on YouTube.

All the old kids programmes like Trumpton, Camberwick Green, Chigley, Pogles Wood and The Clangers. Used to love Lost in Space, that was my favourite programme as a child.

Made between 1967 and 69, Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green were originally broadcast in B&W but, owing to a fantastically far-sighted decision by the production company, were produced in colour. That's why they were repeated regularly until well in to the 1980s

Passport to Pimlico is an excellent film. We watched it recently. Other good Ealing comedies include The Lady Killers and Kind Hearts & Coronets.
