Yes I personally think so, if neither of you can accommodate. It shouldn't be down to you to cover all the costs

But it would be polite for her to ask to contribute wouldn't it?

If you are booking a room specifically to meet someone, then splitting the cost is perfectly acceptable. If you’re in a hotel anyway, and invite someone over, then you had planned the stay beforehand, and were prepared for the cost either way

I think it's only fair for both parties to pay half, as someone above said though I wouldn't ask.

This is always a funny one and obviously each to their own, if it’s a single guy meeting a couple, shouldn’t the cost be split three ways, rather than two?

Just to play devils...

Think this is how it should be, think it's common courtesy

In the past life on here and indeed with any future socials I would foot the bill on our behalf and the same apples to hotel costs if things moved on from a social but I’m all heart and a tad stupid.

I once paid for accommodation on the assumption a man would pay me back half and he never did, cheeky git.

Anyway - I would always split.

I agree but would also fully understand if the other person didn’t want to contribute towards costs. I would also pay for the meal and drinks beforehand x

If we are traveling to meet with someone we usually make it a weekend away so we wouldn't.

Meet up have drinks/meal together and a chat then head off to the room for a few hours and then say out goodbyes till next time x

I always make question to contribute and help with the costs between 3 or more even when they tell me is not necessary . I do think is polite and fair do it because if meetings is about share why not share the costs also

There and to the left a bit

Always split any costs in half - leaves no room for expectation or sense of obligation that way

Well you can always ask but it depends who is stating the night in the room if someone is just visiting and you are staying there its a bit of a tight arse thing to do.
