"Oh well. I can't win them all. What ever I said OP - no offence was intended. I get why she said that and I get why you don't understand. She's trying to express herself and you're basically just saying she's all upset and a hug will make it all better. She's not a child, she's an adult woman. You don't have to agree with her but you don't have to patronise her either. I totally get that you were trying to be nice but sometimes women don't want a man trying to make it all better.
