If you could speak another language which would you like to speak?

(This isn’t a bragging thread for how many you already speak, however brilliant that is!!)

I'd go for Italian. I've learned a bit but still plenty more to do. It's a beautiful language, not too difficult (like German - grrr!) and it's and important language used for lots of operas. Italy is a wonderful place to visit with all that art, history and beautiful scenery. Luke

A family member is using Duolingo for Italian and keeps dropping phrases into dinner conversation. The last one was about the penguins at the zoo eating fish. I'm not sure where he'll use that one but I like that penguins made it onto a language course.

It can be done. I became fluent in a second language with two lessons a week (2 hours each) over three years.

The problem is immersion - unless the language is being used with native speakers, fluency is difficult to achieve.

To answer the question: Arabic.

Beautiful country with beautiful women. Not a lot to do once you’ve taken in it’s beauty though.

If you get the chance I would recommend Gotëborg for a weekend. Anymore and you’d be like “why the fuck did that lad tell me to come here?” Haha
