Have you ever felt like you were addicted/trapped, looking for the next "sure thing"?

I haven't personally but I have known someone who was/is addicted.

They are doing much better now a days, thankfully.

For anyone struggling there is light at the end of the tunnel if you work at it x

Never but if thats how you feel then its time to seek help. Gambling ruins lives and is not to be taken lightly.

No not at all, I've only used an online bookie once, and that was to get a shirt for the club i support for a tenner. Worth the risk i thought! If id won i might have tried again, but i didn't, so i didn't.

It was just a thought that came to me while i watching sky sports, most of the adverts seemed to be for gambling, and they all have the same "when the fun stops, stop" message.

I was thinking i bet that's harder than it sounds. I don't have an easily addicted personality/ physicality. I dropped smoking after 17 years over night for instance. However, i do have an obsessive personality, if i get interested in something, then that will be my focus for about 3 months before i get bored. I am the master of starting hobbies for example. So i can imagine that online gambling could become an issue if i opened the door to it.

There must be thousands of victims now that gambling is soo easy and everywhere! I feel real empathy towards anyone caught up in it.

I don’t know how to place a bet.

I’ve got friends who gamble to a silly degree and I just don’t understand it

I’m not a killjoy but when you have more bookies in a deprived area than charity shops then someone should get a lid on it.

Seen some friends from all backgrounds fall apart from gambling.

It's strange how the flood gates suddenly opened, especially online.

Many years ago I worked with someone who had a gambling problem that was discovered when he was found to have stolen from work and from his girlfriend who also worked in the same place.

Got a cert in the 3.0 clock at kelso if anyone wants it! lol

Seriously ,I have gambled all my life and have on occasions bet more than I should, however i get such a lot of fun via horse racing, I dont plan on stopping.

I have two adult sons, one a problem gambler, who hasn't had a bet for 5 years and the other has followed in my footsteps and I would describe as a functional gambler..

Help is available if anyone wants to stop, but you have to want to stop..

I’m not in favour of cancel/banning culture

But I wouldn't be bothered if it was all shut down to be honest.
