We all know a man should lift the seat when going for a tinkle, it's only polite. A good man puts the seat back down afterwards but a true gent puts the lid down too.

I'm so well trained i do all of these things regardless of where the loo is. So, fellas, where do you stand on this?

Flushing is the main cause of germs to spread. So toilet lid down, then flush.

The problem with this is that with the lid down there is a smaller gap for the air and particles to be pushed through so it would have a sort of aerosol effect. Personally I leave it up, on the basis that I have to lift it up when I need a piss so why cant the next person put it down if they need to. It's not exactly a big deal.

Or have the loo in a separate room away from toothbrushes - see those slums weren't so bad with the bog in the backyard!

Women use it as a shelf for their makeup when they're getting ready, pretty damned inconvenient when you're busting.

I've seen some very well made-up bogs, a bit of lippy, some eyeshadow, bit of contouring; in these enlightened times every woman, man & bog has the right to feel pretty! #bogsunitednomoreputtingupwiththisshit

I always put it down because it looks better not because the ladies say so.

It's just as easy to put the seat/lid down as it is for us men to do the opposite
