Fascination. Desire. Lust. Even a touch of tenderness, that melting feeling in your chest making you ready to be vulnerable yet again.. But not love as I understand it.

Can it be much, if any, more than superficial?

Some people will fuck anything - is similar true, for loving indiscriminately?

No and I don't believe it's possible. It's why I can't read chick lit where eyes meet across a crowded room/carriage/office and they just "know". It makes me mad

I don’t know about love at first sight, but I can honestly say I can clearly remember the very first time I saw Jo and after asking about her from a mutual friend I couldn’t get her out of my mind, I was a bit of a player when I was young to be honest but I always treated Jo different and when she gave me the opportunity a couple of years later I jumped at the chance left my player days behind me and here we are 23 years later

Blessed

Doew love at first sight not make love, at least initially, purely visual?

Parental love is different, since it also has the build up, and instinct attached to it. But I don't see how love can be formed based on sight alone, or even in the space of a single meeting.

I'm not questioning those that have/believe they have, but I can't work out how love can be formed that quickly. Surely you would need to get to know that person before such a strong emotion was formed.

North East Scotland, mostly

I'm not totally convinced there is such a thing.

Lust, absolutely. Fascination, infatuation, yes. But I don't think you can truly love someone until you know them better.

I used to believe in love at first sight, but with the benefit of experience I realise it was out-of-control desire. Generally ending in disaster!

"Yes. We had been talking for a month or so before actually meeting face to face, it lasted 11 years x"

This I can partially understand. Had you seen what they looked like prior to meeting though?

To me love at first sight is nothing but literally seeing them for the first time, no prior meeting, visual indication or little to no contact prior. Blank slate.

Not love at first meeting, not love at first conversation, but love at first sight.

We had seen pictures of each other but I didnt fall in love with those, I liked how he looked but actually seeing him in the flesh changed everything.

"Love at first site, no.

Lust, yes."

I think the big question is how do you define love? Ask 100 people likely get 100 different answers. One persons lust/infatuation at first sight is another's love at first sight.

Do you marry for love? Or learn to love after marraige?

"Has anyone experienced this...? "

Yes..

My husband saw me on the first visit to Secondàry School and laughingly told his mates that i was the girl he was going to marry!

We have been together since i was 13 and he was 14...it took him a while to build up the courage to ask me out.

Yes. Beast and I met online and obviously knew what the other looked like but the second he was stood in front of me I knew that was it. I never wanted him to leave my side.

We call each other our 'zing' (hotel transylvania) and even have it tattooed on now.
