The worst for me was probably when my partner of 4 years finished things by text and then got in a new relationship less than 2 weeks later.

Finding out I'd been cheated on for 2 months was a pretty brutal ending but in some ways easier.

The kindest break up I've had was when a boyfriend I had at university graduated a year before me and got a job in London so he was over an hour from where I was living at the time. He drove all the way to me to break up with me to my face before driving all the way home. Good guy.

Worst, ghosted. Just dissappeared. I got confirmation she was fine, so nothing horrible had happened to her. Just a horrible person.

"best", was just a mutual decision of no longer being romantically interested in each other. Continued to be close though.

Telling me he'd had an RTA, so couldn't get to the thing we were supposed to go to, and then ghosting me. I didn't know if he'd died. Or if he's actually been in an accident at all.

The kindest breakup had to be when I broke up with one of my ex’s purely because I was moving away. It wasn’t on any bad terms or anything and we remained friends.

Worst breakup I am guilty of that. Had sex with him and pulled out all the stops and made him feel like things were good. then once it was over said I was breaking up with him and left. I’m not ashamed of it though.

Spending the weekend with a female 'only a friend' without telling me so I couldn't get hold of him (pre mobile phones) that I was miscarrying our baby. He ended it a couple of weeks after the miscarriage to be with her.

The best was the farewell dinner, both dressed up, somewhere stunning, when we realised that the distance meant it would be impossible to continue.

I dumped a bloke just after we’d been to see King Kong at the Cinema (the one with Naomi Watts). The relationship was going downhill anyway but he went to put his arm around me and i just wanted to throat punch him, i just couldn’t do it anymore so i waited till the film was over and dumped him.

He shouted after me as i hot footed it away “you’ll never find someone as good as me” and i just knew i’d done the right thing.

The worst to happen to me was discovering my Kids dad had logged onto a dating chat site as i went to do some online banking. He’d not shut down the chat window so i could see a dirty convo he’d had with some woman and the 13 messages he’d sent to other women in our area. But, on the plus side, it allowed me access to his profile. I updated his “single, no kids” bit and put a few choice words in about being a wanker and then i messaged everyone he’d contacted telling them that i’m sure they’d had enough of lying cheating arseholes in their life, they didn’t need one more. I then sent him a screenshot of his profile, packed his clothes into a bin bag and dumped them outside the door. Although two weeks later i discovered i was pregnant with our second child. Didn’t take him back, but continued the pregnancy alone. We are on ok terms for the sake of the kids.

So yeah, swings and roundabouts.

My ex husband took me on a drive to tell me he wanted a relationship with a young girl who was just a year older than our eldest son. That was a few days before our daughters 21st birthday. I asked him to leave as I wasn’t putting up with him seeing her while living at home. He’d even bought her to the house once and introduced her as his friends girlfriend. Needless to say it was a very nasty break up especially once I’d discovered that he’d been cheating for years x

I've never had a bad one, I'm just horrified at how people have been treated

I worked with a lady whose husband of some thirty years told her on holiday that he was leaving her for a girl half his age. She didn't tell a soul for six months. I just can't imagine what she must have gone through. For the record she was a stunning Jamaican lady in her fifties with the figure of a twenty five year old. She had kindness, dignity, humour and warmth in such huge measures. I can't imagine how any man could bear to lose a woman like her and I still can't make sense of it now

This wasn't a relationship end but it was the cruelest way of saying one wasn't going to start.

A man I used to know when I was in my teens said that in his school days he used to see a local girl turn up to places he was going to such as when he was playing rugby. One day a Valentine's card arrived for him and he knew who it was from. He spotted her on the bus going to school one day, so went up to her, pulled the card out of his pocket, tore it in half and handed it to her.

It's just unbelievable. I can't imagine how she must have felt.

This was the man who ended up running the church youth group I used to go to when I was a teenager.

Kindest break up I have had is with a lady I met after my divorce, we dated for a while, but realised that we were not going in the same direction and mutually called it off. However, we had booked and paid for a holiday so decided to go as friends, was possibly some of the best sex I’ve ever had that week.

My childhood sweetheart and husband of 10 years became an alcoholic and in a d*unken rage one night decided to batter me. He broke my arm in two places and inflicted various other injuries. So I dumped him the next day via phone and we divorced soon after.

I've never been dumped, feel sorry for people that have had it bad

My Eldest sons dad.

We were housemates, just sort of drifted into a relationship.

Had a crazy few years together, but I had a career oppertunity, which meant moving.

He told me to go for it.

A few weeks later I found out I was pregnant.

Career got put on hold for 4yrs, we stayed living in the same house for a year, til I got a flat.

We've never fell out, he's still one of my best friends after 30yrs

One of my proudest moments was watching our son, then aged 14 be his best man when he got married

Worst..

A boyfriend was being posted to Germany, it ended amicably

A few yrs later, he found me on Bookface & we got back together.

6mths later he was going home for Christmas.

Didn't here from for a couple of days, thought he was just busy with family.

Tried calling after another day, phone off, after couple more days trying, I phoned his mum, who was normally lovely with me, she was very vague. I knew something was wrong

Next day I'm seeing the photos of him & his girlfriend on their tropical beach holiday, complete with photo of him proposing to her on the beach!

My worst well was probably an ex who ghosted me but then she came back to me years later and I wasn't taking that crap.

Any where I have been dumped have been painful as I always gave and give 200%.... but I've learnt alot since those days many many many years ago lol

The worst done to me was my ex wife, had been with her 24 years, married 13. On the 13th wedding anniversary after a meal and a night out, got back home where she told me it was over, shed met someone else.

After it all calmed down we got divorced, she moved in with this guy who turned out to be gay and left her. Revenge was very sweet, although I have to say once the financials were sorted we stayed amicable for the sake of our son and get on very well even now.

I can't think of a bad break up I've inflicted, it's usually a mutual thing.

I would definitely be more cautious with regards safe guarding my assets in future, it's a hard one as it sounds the most unromantic thing in the world - then again handing it over is pretty shite too lol

Lol I hear you but romance is over rated and a way for us to lose ourselves besides protecting an asset forever over rides any honeymoon period in a relationship.

I spent 3 years fighting to see him my barrister suggested dna and that bombshell dropped

Took me a good few years to get past that

I ain’t scarred from it I came out a better person I don’t hate the woman I feel sorry for her tbh and I’ve had a better life since walking away

I’ve done things since leaving that I wouldn’t of been able to do if I was still with her

I try and find the positive in every situation
