Yes, from experience sticking with a relationship that was not right for either... It makes no one happy... And once you find your confidence when single it can be a great feeling!

Newly single (about five months) and totally loving it. So much so that I don't envisage being in a relationship again. The peace, not having to compromise, worry about someone etc all I have to think about is myself and my children. If I need sex there is fab, parties or my sex toys. It's a win win. Your happiness over an unhappy relationship always.

Hiding in the shadows

Having already spent half my life with the wrong person, then single all the way.

It's taken alot to rebuild my life. I'm finally me, free & very happy.

I wouldn't sacrifice what I've built, to share it with anyone now unless they were 100% right for me.

Single, rather that, than be miserable for 11 years again.

Been single almost 11 years - can't imagine being in another long term relationship again...

If it's someone who's wrong for you, then single all the way

If you're single because you can't be with the person who's right for you (because you had a bit of a breakdown and screwed things up totally) then that's a lot harder to take....

Being with the wrong person would be horrible. Better to be in your own.

No relationship is perfect although they can be perfect for the people in them, which is different

Exactly. I'm fortunate enough to have never been in a relationship that I regret being with that person, I know others who have and they said the exact same thing.

Its not just about a body being there, it is how that body physically and mentally makes you feel. Often isolated and trapped.

And that's not even abusive relationships.

My (ex) wife was and still is wonderful but we grew apart and separated 7 years ago. We were both upset at the time and we still stay in touch, no kids involved.

We were together for almost 20 years and if it didn't work for me with her then it won't work for anyone else with me. I'm much happier single and even more content. I don't have to think about anybody, just me. That might sound selfish but I'm happier single.

I was blissfully single 10year, met someone we have banter and we talk about everything and we laughing all the time. I say single all the time until you find someone you adore, that makes you laugh and can speak to without having to second guess what they'd think about what you say and makes you feel comfortable around them. Stay single till
