How long do you spend on the forums?

I have to say, I spend far more time on here than I'd like.

Anyone else feel the same? I wouldn't say I'm addicted, as I'm still getting my work done and we keep our house nice (I'm a little OCD with cleanliness), but I always feel a little guilty....

How about you?

x Niki

Liverpool

I spend a lot of my day waiting for glue to dry. Fab has basically just replaced my social media scrolling during that time.

Yes. I have to say, I don't spend much time on social media anymore, because I got sick of people posting rubbish... So I'm on fab instead!

There and to the left a bit

Recently not as much time as I used to - there was a time when I was hardly off the site morning, noon and night but some doses of reality along with a level of meh about the forums lately have shifted the balance a little

I agree. It can be very entertaining. It can also be a bit meh when the negative stuff goes on.

Totally agree with you. If I've got that fire in my belly about a project, I never waste time on t'internet on anything. At the moment I need a new challenge, so I probably could be a lot more productive. Intellectually, I know I should spend less time on the internet. But emotionally, when I'm feeling a little stagnant with work or stuff, it's a way to escape, release and even have some fun.

It's often not easy to switch off, then it's the 'I'll just take a little look' thought that sucks you in

I agree. It’s harder if there is a thread you find intriguing, or maybe it’s just easier than quieting the mind. I should be in bed btw...

It depends op. During work if I'm not overly busy I love getting on the forum for as long as I can cause the craic is mighy. At night I'm more about getting out to see friends or, if I'm home, vegitating in front of the telly. So I dont get on much in the evenings. I enjoy the time I spend here which is the main thing

I go through stages. Sometimes it's great, I love the forums and can just lurk and laugh, at other times I offer my two penneth. Then there are times when I just browse for a few minutes here and there. I don't do any other social media apart from pof every now and again so it all depends on my mood really.

Caerphilly

Varies daily, depending on mood and level of work and sometimes just the tone and timbre of the forum. Which can also vary daily, course.

I used to worry about time spent on forums, online communities, social media, etc. Like, was it too much time? Am I missing the simple pleasures of a strange and wonderful IRL conversation, or the singular moment of light catching a cloud? Existential anguish in a digital world...

So I started a chat with a fellow on the bus to Cardiff and he said something very wise:

"Wharrafookoolookinat, fookenknockoo outbutt".

I rarely worry these days.
