The fake profile dynamic

I’ve never understood why this sort of site encourages sooo many fake profiles? I mean there are about 20 plus that spring up in London daily.. it cannot just be pics they are trying to get? Nudes are readily available on here so I don’t get it.. spot them a mile off aswell ( 21 years old new to this, dont tell my bf lool ) so they cant be getting much convo? So what’s the point lol

There’s plenty of fakes. And even the smartest of people (not just men!) fall for them.

What do the gain? Attention they wouldn’t get otherwise

Nowadays if a person is set on you proving you are real.. the gigg cannot last long ( proof pics videos ect). The attention thing I agree can happen but it’s not real so what are you actually gaining. That’s the part I don’t understand. The attention isn’t really for you ultimately and you know it

I think you'd be surprised how many people can be taken in by them. Maybe not the more obvious ones, but there are some quite realistic verified fakes on here. They get dirty chat from people who wouldn't otherwise look twice at them, attention, and maybe more private pics from people, that they can use to set up more convincing fake profiles elsewhere.

It’s sad lonely people. Yes they’ll know deep down the attention isn’t *really* for them, but it doesn’t matter.

And hey - if someone is set on proving I’m real, good luck to them. I wouldn’t go on cam, phone someone etc just to prove I’m real. I know I am.

Yeah, I'd be pretty miffed at this point if someone wanted extra measures to prove I'm real. At a certain point it does become more unrealistic for me to fake the profile than it does for me to be fake.

I do think it's easy to spot a fake but there are so many who genuinely wouldn't be able to tell. It's sad how often you hear about people being catfished and let down at the last moment after meets have been arranged.

It's so bizarre to me that people do it. I remember some guy did it to my cousin, she fell for him and was going to send him money and everything until I told her that he was fake. It's done for all kinds of reasons though. Money, loneliness, people get off on it being able to chat with people etc. It's fucked up.
