Only a lighthearted thread..

Are you grateful that your childhood happened before technology took over ?

Do you think your children missed out by not having a similar childhood to you.

Den building, riding bikes, climbing (and falling) out of trees, 20 aside street football, etc

It's a funny one because I think my lad missed out on a big part of his childhood by being lost in technology (gaming) etc but to him technology IS his childhood

My kids have a fairly outdoorsy lifestyle because to be honest, they are so active (youngest has ASD and is non stop on the go) that i need to tire them out!

They have an Xbox between them but they’re not on it all the time. They have a curfew for coming off it.

But i wish i could relax about them playing out more, like i used to - home before tea sort of thing. But they are both a bit young for that anyway.

No request for a mobile phone yet from my eldest so that’s one good thing. Some of his friends already have one.

I am glad I didn't have to deal with the social media pressure that is around with technology.

There are pros and cons of both.

Social media for example as stated above can be hell for kids, a whole new level of pressure and bullying.

To be assuming "your" childhood is better than another child's from a different era is quite... Biased. You won't have experienced what it is like to be a child with current technology, and your experience for your own childhood can and is often rose tinted glasses.

I was slightly ahead of the transition in terms of the Internet, it was becoming public while in high school. So I appreciate both sides of it.
