Has to be Empire Strikes Back.

I do have a soft spot for Revenge of the Sith though.

To be perfectly honest most of the expanded universe stuff is better than the movies (all 9 of the movies, 11 if you include Rogue one and Solo).

The teens are re-watching them all ready for the last one.

Us oldies bore on about the scrolling opening story and how impressive it was. Thankfully, we've trained them well and they love it too.

For anyone that's a fan of the original theater produced trilogy (and not the butchered lucas film editions) there are versions known as the despecialized edition that have been painstakingly redone by fans to take away all the digital effects and recreate the original scenes. If you're interested in further details or how to get them you can PM me.

A new hope

Empire

Attack of the clones

Revenge of the Sith

Return of the jedi

Awakens

You can ignore the last jedi, it doesn't really exist.

The position of Rogue one is difficult. It's an enigma! It ruins a new hope if watched first. But leads in to it so well.

Phantom menace is fairly pointless when you think about it.

I was in the theatre when the preview for phantom menace came on. People were cheering and standing up.

It may not be the best one but it is the last star wars movie that my dad got to see in the theatre with all of us, as we all went to see them as a family when we were little. Looking over and watching him lean back in his seat through the pod racing scene is one of my favorite memories. He did see that last couple but not in the theatre. He was a trekkie and a star wars fan.

So its sentimental; but Phantom Menace.

People look down on the prequels like they are trash. They did overuse cgi, and GL can't write dialogue or direct people for shit and had far too much creative control compared to the originals, but in their own right they are good movies.

4 episodes in. Episode 3 & 4 you could easily say could be in movies

My only complaint if i have one is that episodes are 10/15 mins to short, and I have to wait a week for them

I don’t actually mind the length because they are very focused. The best way I have heard them described and I agree is a 30 mins live action cartoon

Out of the 4 episodes, ep2 probably has been the weekest but that’s still pretty good.

"I'm actually hoping 'The Rise of Skywalker' will be a disaster... "

From what I have heard, it's not going to do well at all. It has had extensive reshoots, rewrites, and audiences walking out during test screenings.

To be fair it can't be anything but bad, due to the mess TLJ made of the plot points laid out in TFA (and all previous movies).

Also the one promo clip they have shown is eye roll material.

If it follows the vein of the last two it will be predictable and not much different to return of the Jedi

Just think there is another trilogy in its way, where will it end

I've heard all the reports, leaks etc.

I'm only looking forward to seeing the film because of how bad it seems to be. Sad that Disney/Lucasfilm have totally fucked the sequel trilogy, but might as well laugh at it.

Indeed!

Though did you see that Jon Favreau is potentially taking over from Kathleen Kennedy as head of lucasfilm, or at he very least requested to replace her. So that should be good if it happens.

The end of Rogue One is amazing.

I wont give anything away, but I was in cinema with my step son at the time and it all went quiet and then it happened

If you know, you know

I agree with that. I dislike the Disney star wars movies but Rogue one is the exception.

You can skip Solo. It is cringe, even for a star wars movie, with se of the choices they made in regards to everything.

I'll Deffo give it a watch!

Yeah I've not heard great things about solo. I didn't see the point in them making it but hoped it would be good anyway

Solo was disappointing and they could have done it so differently

thats like asking what order you watching them in....

4,5,6, 1,2,3..... or 1,2,3,4,5,6

or.... 4,5....pretend the bad guys won!.... and go on with the rest of your life!

I’m including Rogue One and Solo etc though.

Oh if you wanna watch them how they’re supposed to be watched google the Machete Order "

Thank you thank you thank you. I had no idea this was even a thing. Having just read the article, this is brilliant!

"Thank you thank you thank you. I had no idea this was even a thing. Having just read the article, this is brilliant!"

I’d also recommend some of the fan edits of eps. 1-3 which strip out some of the superfluous BS, and Jar Jar Binks. That way you can keep Ep1 in the Machete Order. There are a few that combine 1-2 into a single feature length edit.

"Empire from the originals and R1 from the new batch

Actually Solo wasn't terrible but it was very very dark. As in I actually struggled to see what was going on

The Blu Ray has dealt with that. It looks fine now, and they realise that they made a mess of the cinema colour grading. "

So glad you said that

I thought I was due an appointment with the optician
