So I now spend more than 50% of my time living in London and soon to be a London resident.

I'm always very affected by these sort of things but normally more detached as I live far away.

I travel through Central all the time and I'm not going to lie, I'm now really scared.

So my question is do attacks like this change your behaviour or make you think twice about going to certain places.

No not really and I work in London. But it has made me slightly cautious and highly aware of my surroundings. But it is sad nowadays it’s just a fact of life.

and I do feel most people not all are desensitised to these situations. And that is not good at all

I daresay it's an element of chance, given the numbers of people at any one time and location anywhere across the whole of London.

I worked in London back in the 70's and 80's at the height of the IRA Bombing campaigns.

Yes, we got rattled and suspicious of everyone but that's what terrorists want ... to instil panic in the population.

So we just got on with it, just as older generations had done in the WW2 years.

That's what terrorists forget; they cannot break that British "spirit"!

It wouldn't. I want to live my life to the fullest.. however long it lasts. I don't want my decisions to be paralysed by those events. I refuse to be threatened by it..

On short, no. Lived and worked in London for over 30 years. Remember all too well the IRA bombing campaigns of the 80s and 90s as well as the 7/7 suicide bombers and more recently the Borough Market and Westminster Bridge attacks among too many such incidents.

All were frightening at the time. All were of course tragic for those who lost loved ones. However, will these people change what I do or what I think? Never. I will not be bowed by fools who wish to impose their views on me.

I work in places that are a high risk of being targetted- so much so, we have frequent awareness training.

I'm more likely to be killed on the motorway going to or from work or by the equipment we use for the job.....so fuck em!

Don't worry about it. People understand you are nervous but it's a bit like people get nervous of flying after a plane crash. We all still do it.

I have lived in London for decades,during the IRA bombs through to now. I was on my way to Harrods the day of the bomb but changed my plans by chance on my way there. Over the years I have been close enough to two other bombs to hear them. But I have not and will not change the way I live.

Fortunately for the majority of people living in London, these terrible events will still just be news items on TV and in newspapers and little more. Try not to let it worry you and embrace your London experiences.

Thank you. I guess you just get very good at working out quickly what the best course of action is... Twitter was great (better than the news services) for helping to understand what had gone on. Random nutter with knife taken out by police was a better and more accurate explanation of "gunshots heard" far better than Sky or BBCs "incident in London". Once you know what you're dealing with, its a lot easier.

I'm hypa vigilant anyway so I often notice things way before others but that can always make me feel more on edge. X

These horrendous acts are thankful still relatively rare.
