First meet nerves. They're normal. We all get them. Fancy sharing and helping those who think that they're unusually worried?

East Sussex

My first meet nerves manifest as not wanting to go. I always do and have a great time but the hour before hand I just don't want to leave the house .

I'm not worried about how I look or if they'll be disappointed or anything like that. I'm just a bit nervous.

There and to the left a bit

I'm odd in that I don't get nervous about the meeting the person bit but do fret about other things such as performance issues etc so the two tend to cancel each other out to an extent - I get myself ready and en route using the not being nervous about meeting the person bit, by which time I figure it's too late to worry about the other things and whatever will be will be as far as they're concerned

I was so nervous my first few meets. Swingers are scary and I'm not good enough etc.

They were very kind to me and we still chat all this time later.

But I think people look at those who've gone before and assume they have some secret. Not really! Just experience.

In a wax coated bubble

I was nervous on my first meet until we kissed, so I since then have adopted the practice of saying hello and bang straight into the kiss and nerves have not plaged me since and it's a great ice breaker

I rem_mber my first meet, clearly.

I was so nervous. Just relax, meet in a place that you consider safe for you.

Hopefully you'll both out eachother at ease. Mine was the opposite unfortunately.

Maldon and Peterborough

Carry a tissue (no - not that) - sweaty palms are normal (for me) so keep them dry.

A hug is my advice. Hugs tend to relax you and them.

Rem_mber - they are probably nervous too.

I’m potentially meeting someone for the first time next week. Normally don’t get nervous but this is a bit different as we’ve been talking for around 8 years. She moved away to HK.

We plan to meet for an afternoon as she is visiting, she has dinner plans.

I think it’s from the uncertainty of what the expectations are.

I get a nervous tummy, so I have to take Imodium. And sometimes I just have to make an emergency dash to a loo. Trying to find a public loo when you’re in need is very stressful!

Thank fuck my first meets are socials only.

I'm always nervous, so many variables to consider.

I still get the shakes before meeting long term friends.

I don't think there's a cure for me

Always meet in a public place, always verify the person is real eg, video chat prior to meeting. Always follow your gut feeling if something feels odd or off don't do it. If they become pushy don't do it. Nerves are normal and to be expected when meeting new people, just play safe, it's better to be safe than sorry

I imagine them in their underwear, usually does the trick

Aw met a lovely guy for coffee last week and he noticed the natural tremor I had and said "aww you are trembling, I don't want to make you nervous"

I did not have the heart to say "no mate, it is not you it is my neurological condition"

Instead I replied with "ooh yes! I always get like that when meeting someone new"

Gotta make 'em feel special see!

I never think I'm nervous, but Mr abc ALWAYS tells me to calm down before ANY meet, as I act as though I'm uptight and mildly stressed apparently.

I don't act like that at all.

So my advice is, pure denial of nerves. It clearly works for me

Exeter, Bristol, Plymouth, Truro

I actually dont get nervous at all if I'm honest. What will be will be, go with the flow attitude.

I find speaking with someone over the phone over a period of time helps. Going into it with no expectations.

If you do get nervous then leaving in plenty of time helps and deep breathing, lots of coffee hah.

I get super nervous (female) it’s not something we actively do often. It’s like a ‘treat’ I guess. So I assume mine is to do with the gap in between, maybe if it was regular I wouldn’t? I’m quite a paranoid person anyway about EVERYTHING

I’m much more nervous than I appear. The telltale signs are my hands shaking more than usual. I view it more as excitement than nerves, but my body cannot distinguish and is likely to have an effect on the ease of getting an erection and perhaps how easy it is to cum once aroused. It’s unsurprising that I’ve never had a second meet
