Ok, i know i need to move into the 21st century. I just dont understand this friends business on social networking sites. Do people really talk to all these 100's of people they have on their friends list or is it just a popularity contast. Everyone on my friends list except one(who lives in america) are actually friends of mine in the real world. I have god knows how many friends requests each day.

Is there a reason that i dont know off

I get loads of friends requests too. If they haven't sent me a message then they soon get deleted. Only add ones that I might meet or have met.

I must be doing something wrong because I don't get friends request... I have deleted my ex.. At the moment I think facebook is devils juice...

I dont really use facebook as such, i use a couple of sites on there and maybe post the odd update or reply to one but everytime i go on it shows an icon and i click and theres all these people wanting to be a friend

think you hit the nail on the head there diamonds,it seems to be a competition iv heard people boasting about the ampunt of friends they have

i have a few select friends i have had for years

cyber friends dont count,they dont know me well enough to be called friends

aquaintances yes,and people i like, but not real friends

I don't use it much any more.. I don't post when I am in a relationship because as soon as you revert it back to single everyone comments...

i dont get friends requests either..

i do have 300 friends on facebook though, made up of old school friends, army friends, work mates, a few from fab and friends from town

Well considering the ex wanted to put that we was in a relationship I am glad I didnt now haha

i add them and chat to them, decide they are dickheads but forget to delete them

i go through every now and then and delete a load of people

I can't get MSN on my lappy for some reason.. I don't miss it at all...x

I think every body could have 300+ friends on facebook if we wanted. Fortunately the majority of us are sensible enough not to add every Tom,Dick and Harry we meet. Seen loads of facebook rows involving people that are not particulary friendly with thier facebook 'friend' .

i play daft games so have loads of friends, the word has a different meaning in a social network context.

i dont share anything personal on facebook, so it doesn't bother me.
