Of course she should but we need to understand the issues here before people run off on a tangent as some have elsewhere.

At the time of the crash she had DI because of her husband's status. She misled Police by saying she would not leave and then did. Sadly she was able to leave without hindrance because of her / her husband's DI. And contrary to what others have said elsewhere the Vienna Convention does endorse and enforce that status through International Law and national ratification. So she could leave, did and was entitled so to do. Sadly.

Now both the UK FCO and the US State Department have subsequently agreed now she is in the USA she no longer has DI. So she could be extradited. Except the USA NEVER extradites its citizens to any other jurisdiction.

So, again very sadly, there is no chance of her ever facing proper justice here in the UK.

On a personal level the pain the mother and father are feeling must be horrendous especially as they will see no justice. But it seems some charlatan lawyer / spokesman has tagged on to their grief and led them all over the place with false hopes and false accusations. He even sued the FCO and that has cost the family money. I can understand the need to lash out but the target is in the USA not the UK. To some extent I am more angry at the hangers on to the Dunn family than the woman who made a mistake and killed a young man. She never intended it but these vultures certainly do ..

Whilst all those are good points I would like to point out that the USA does now permit its citizens to be extradited. Before world war 2 it didn't. An act of Congress was passed in the 1990s which permits us citizens to be extradited provided that all the terms. Of the extradition treaty are met.

I understand that there is also some legal debate about whether the Vienna convention was correctly applied under these specific circumstances.

And yes. I feel that Anne sacoolas should be extradited and charged appropriately.
