When to send a friend request?

Just wondering what people thought. I was chatting all evening to a woman on here a couple days ago and all was going nicely. We even got to talking about diary arrangements. Then I sent a friend request, and that was it, my messages were all deleted and I’ve heard nothing since.

I agree, I find it rude if someone just sends one even if we are already chatting, it's like they've assumed it's a sure thing.
