What do you see as the difference or similarities between these?

Have you ever been in love and if so how did you know it wasn't lust?

After the last year I've decided my heart is no longer involved.

Lust only for me

The difference can sometimes be tricky . There's a fine line at times.

Sometimes lust can become a bit of an addiction. All that oxytocin flying around when you're intimate with someone over a period of time it can be difficult to distinguish.

Love though for me is more than that. It's desire and craving but It's often putting the other person before yourself too

If you see the person you're with as something more than a sex object, someone you want to spend time with outside of the bed, then that's love, be that love for a friend or love for a life partner

Lust is a strong sexual desire for someone and that can be for someone you love, care about or even someone you've just met, love is more of a whole package someone you want to spend time with care for and cherish someone you wouldn't want to be without. Obviously love and lust are both wonderful feeling and emotions and as long as you dont mistake one for the other hopefully you can experience both for what they are, that's my opinion anyway

I love being in lust.. it's not something that happens often but when it happens I love it x

Being in love.. well it's happened once and cant see it ever happening again as I'm still in love with him x

But can't you so easily think it's the whole package you like when really all it truly was was sex?

And what is the while package?

I've never loved anyone for every possible thing...I've found flaws but ignored them to love them.

I don't think there's one true definition. Particularly when you consider the (often wonderful) complication of platonic love.

Pure lust rarely gets anywhere for me. I have to have friendliness and respect.

I love (not like that) a handful of my swinging friends, I do try to prioritise their needs, and they give me the warm fuzzies.

Non platonic love, I think I see it like that saying on pornography. I can't define it, but I know it when I see it.

I think ppl often fear giving recognition to love and call it lust instead to protect themselves from attachment. Lust I think is wanting someone sexually, any more than that and you're into love territory, which is a scale with shades of grey
