Great North Run in September for breast Cancer.

i wouldnt do the race for life on principal, as not enough of the money raised for CRUK is not actually used for research, but wasted on other things. (my opinion based on fact from someone that worked closely with them)

i will, however, do any other related charity work for most cancer charity.

i prefere to support mcmillan nurses.

Before this sinister thread is deleted I have Tough Mudder in a months time to support Help For Heroes.

Two weeks after that I have a London's to Brighton night bike ride and two weeks after that I have the London to Brighton day ride, both supporting The British Heart Foundation. I also have a couple of half marithons lined up to support a local Hospice (the Hospice of St Francis), they really do amazing work in the local community.

I wish you all well in your upcoming events, especially those entering for personal reasons.

To be honest, of you read my posts you will see that I haven't tried to post a link. The first time I even mentioned what I am am doing was my post above. You will also read some moving comments. Instead of encouraging the people who are putting themselves out, often for very personal reasons, some people decided to hijack the thread. I find it a little disrespectful to be honest after what some people had posted. You guys are technically correct but they way you did it was very unsympathetic considering what some people had written.

That's why my mood is shitty!

As for tough mudder, I think it's all hype to be honest but it raises cash for a worthy cause so thanks.

I merely attempted to let you know why the forum rules state no links to be posted, I wasn't trying to be sinister or hijack a thread.

If you want to see how charitable this site really is try going back through the forums and read previous threads on charity and giving and cancers etc.

This fab community is a giving lot, I should know. I personally have raised hundreds through fab for charities and other fab members.

You are not the first to post without reading the rules, won't be the last, so in my opinion YOU are the one who should stop making a song and dance about it and allow the thread to get back on topic.

This is getting really childish now.

the simple fact remains, I took a post off with a link, reminded people of the the no link rule unless on the allowed list and you have taken great offence at this and to be honest, I don't know why.

Maybe it is time for you to start another thread asking if people are doing the race and I will shut this one, as it has gone way off the original intent.
