La la land

I've seen quite a lot of mentions of people being broken since I've been on the forum. And I'm not here to say how you should or shouldn't feel. God knows I've felt it enough.

But I had a piece of advice from a friend who was far wiser than I. And they compared it with a vase, yes you can smash a vase into pieces, but you can glue those pieces together. You may still see the cracks, and the amount you can depends on how much it was broken. But the vase still works, it'll still hold water and the beautiful flowers. You conquered a lot to survive whatever was sent to break you, that makes you strong not broken. Lots of love and hugs to all of you

Beautiful. Think it's the Chinese that when something breaks they use a gold substance to glue it back together. To make a point that it is still beautiful x

"Kintsugi(or kintsukuroi)is a Japanese method for repairing broken ceramics with a special lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum. The philosophy behind the technique is to recognize the history of the object and to visibly incorporate the repair into the new piece instead of disguising it. The process usually results in something more beautiful than the original."

It’s amazing who tries to shatter you. But it’s very true what they say....... what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Surviving and just getting your arse out of bed sone days takes some more strength than some can imagine. Depends what you define as giving up

I think the day I came to the conclusion I was perfectly imperfect and imperfectly perfect I became a lot happier with life. It took a lot of emotional clearing and catharsis to get to that point where I was able to accept myself as I am. Since then I’ve endeavoured to change the the things I might be able to change but been much more gentle with myself in the process.

Every day is another to discover a little more of who I am.
