Well I’ve done it and applied for my decree absolute today. After over 12 months of first applying and the court losing my paperwork. I shall be so glad to finally get it official but also so sad that I was betrayed by the person I trusted the most.

Now looking forward to the rest of my life and repairing the damage done to myself and the children. So what should I do to celebrate? X

Do something special that you will remember, wing walking! or spa day or something special to you, and contemplate a bucket list of new memories to create for you and your future ...

And most importantly congratulations and good fortune for your future

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

Book a band for some live music.

Most bands local to me have cornered the birthdays and weddings parties, so my band are aiming for the divorce and funerals market, but if you book us for your funeral, we want cash payment up front!

I just heaved a massive sigh of relief, reflected on where I'd gone wrong eg bad decisions, allowing poor behaviour to pass unchallenged etc (not putting any blame on the op here) and felt glad I was in a new and better relationship. I didn’t mark the occasion in any way or do anything special.

I suggest you get together with your closest friends who understand what this truly means to you and really let your hair down.

Here's to your bright and shiny future

Yes, some reflection is warranted. I will not be celebrating today as I’ve got my sons to be looked after but will definitely chat about it to my friends. And yes bring on the rest of my life x

I'm pleased for you lovely and really hope you're life gets better and things settle. Big hugs to you. x

I opened champagne and partied with my besties on my divorce. It was a bit sad the way my marriage ended as we were childhood sweethearts and he's actually dead now. But you just gotta move on with your life and make the most of every day.

I bought my ex wife flowers and I wrote her a thank you card for the good years we had and for the wonderful kids she gave me. Hand delivered them on the day we got the absolute through, gave her a hug and a kiss and wished her good luck.

That’s lovely, unfortunately that’s not something I will want to do. For safeguarding issues he can’t come near the kids and I’d want to stab him as soon as I saw him. I wish things were different but he wasn’t a good man x
