As someone who has had body and general confidence issues ,im finding on here the genuine guys we meet are a big ego boost to me ,yes i know they are getting in my knickers and will say anything but surely i can take some of the compliments and run with them ?....saying that my hubby is the best ego boost for 25 years he has told me lovely things and eventually i believed him ,so dont need the compliments on here to get through life just curious ....

For years when I was with my ex I thought that only slim women were desirable. Since being on here I've seen that all different body shapes are sexy in their own way. That's boosted my confidence x

I take everything that men say to me on here with a giant pinch of salt. I've got a realistic and confident attitude towards my body and good self esteem, this means I can see right through the bull shit eg "you look 35" and appreciate the compliments that are true

There was a thread recently on here, about whether you could have sex with someone you didn't find attractive. I'm sure they would not if there wasn't any of the infamous chemistry!

It did help me boost my ego. Not the messages I received on here so much. But once I met them. Not what they said, just reactions, and the fantastic time we had together. My size is an issue for some. But I know I am a gorgeous woman, but I did doubt it for a while.

Speaking from the Male perspective, cos I am one

I think women are overly critical of themselves, I know it's a personal thing (being comfortable in ones own skin), but I (and I think a lot of men) don't have a set body type when it comes to attractiveness, it's the personality that wins the day.

PS from your profile pic, don't think your ego would need boosting much, gorgeous curves.

I think you can take anything you want as an ego boost. I don't care if they'd fuck a hole in the wall. If they say I'm hot and sexy (even though I have no pics) then I'm taking that for my ego boost tin.

If they think I look like a shit tip but fuck me anyway, who is the loser? ... I'm getting a fuck off a hottie - I'm not the loser!!

I’ve found perving at other women’s profiles gives me a boost. Love seeing all the “real” female bodies looking and feeling sexy. We all have something sexy about us, and it’s even sexier if we celebrate and flaunt it!

I can't comment with regards to ego boost from fab guys as we don't have any interactions with them.

What I will say though, is that when i was in a sexless and loveless marriage, and my ex said I needed to lose weight around my bum I felt horrible about myself.

Funnily enough, my bum was the first think my OH noticed when we met (he only told me months later though!!!) and absolutely adores that it's big, relative to the rest of my body.

So I'm a little pissed off with myself that I was so self conscious for so many years, but hey, you live and learn!

Also, I think age and life experience makes us a lot more confident about our bodies....

I've been on here long enough to take what guys say with a pinch of salt as I've gone from hot and gorgeous to fat and ugly in the time He sent me two messages

I'm naturally confident and I actually like myself which helps

If it makes you feel better than great nothing wrong with that. However if it goes to your head as it does with some no its not.

If you get to a happy medium where you are happy with the way you look then its a great place to be at. I get all sorts of complements but I know my own flaws and don't think I am anywhere near perfect. Being happy in the middle though is a comfortable place to be.

I'm confident and comfortable with my body, but that has come with age and experience. That said, it's always nice to receive compliments, although I do take most on here with a pinch of salt. The compliments that really give me an ego boost are the unspoken ones from people that i've met - the lust-filled looks and the physical reactions. That's when I know that someone finds me attractive.

Don't let the niggling doubts win.

If I looked as good as your profile pic my confidence would be sky high too.

But then again that would mean I was a bloke with great looking boobs wearing sexy lingerie

I think most men prefer a 'real woman' as opposed to a 'model type'... I certainly do. Real women come in various shapes, sizes and with curves and lovely shapely parts.

Most women love to hear they look good but on here this seems more of a phrase that is lent to the "say anything to get a shag" idea and this obscures true comments or genuine compliments.

Ladies all of you are beautiful in different ways... I mean that sincerely.

By the way, us men too are often self conscious and have hang ups. Body, face and genital.

Yeah you are right but the gist of what I was thinking is that generally men like a regular lady rather than the stereotypical type of model that is portrayed as all mens desire

The same applies to women really. We like a man to just be himself and have confidence in that.
