Are being distributed to hundreds of bars and clubs in London. The kits are designed to help victims and stem the bleeding. Why only London?

It won't be all London just the areas with the highest incidents. And lets face it things have to start somewhere.

In birmingham the first lot of 50 were bought with money donated from West Midlands police @4k I think and the pubs, clubs etc where they are located send staff to be trained how to use the kit.

It's not just a London thing, Liverpool are and I believe someone said Nottingham are doing it.

Cleveland was ahead of London a few years ago (knife crime per 100,000 population)
