You think to yourself, there's got to be more to life?

This can't be it can it?

Is this a midlife crisis?

Oh well.

Yes, I think this, mainly whist sat at work feeling overworked and underpaid.

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

But yes, completely understand. I go through this while paying bills especially.

sometimes because there is more to life than most of us can achieve. The trick is to make the most of the life you have. It is a treadmill a lot of the time especially if you have a family to support, that's when you need to make a conscious effort to make the most of what you do have, enjoy the small things and appreciate the good stuff.

Sometimes. I don’t like routine and it’s usually when I’ve had my fill of the same old same old I feel like that.

Maybe a change of scenery OP? Recharge your batteries.

What else is there?

2 different people in the same situation may perceive it very differently.

Autumn leaves in brilliant colours glistening in the sun. Frosty spider webs like jewels in hedges.

Soggy leaves everywhere, freezing cold and bugs ugghhhh.

OP I (her) think you are too young for a mid life crisis in fairness to you. But we all experience times where we feel like you do atm.

Don't dwell on it, maybe do something that makes you feel good about yourself... ok it may not change circumstances which make you feel that way but it helps to get through those times.

Then when you feel stronger maybe you could contemplate what steps you could possibly take (if any) to improve the circumstances which cause you to feel that way.

Not really a helpfulness answer I don't suppose but I think I am trying to let you know that you are not alone in feeling this way from time to time.

Periodically. More so since I semi-retired as my current employment, whilst okay, doesn't give me a buzz.

So true.

I tend to look on the negative side of things these days.

I'm definitely having a midlife crisis

I feel like there has to be more to life than how I'm living at the moment which is the same routine over and over!

Only I have the power to change it - but finding the energy to do it is the problem

Small steps. Same routine can be comforting. You get better at it from the practice.

Perhaps looking for the positive in a situation- no matter how small- may help. Imagine you're trying to cheer your mate (you) up. What could you say about her (your) day that would make her smile.

The positive in this day is that its Friday

I have 2 blissful days of freedom ahead of me where anything could happen.

Thanks Mavis x

We are lucky at moment. Mortgage free here and in Cyprus finally

But we have always changed career as and when needed or if bored

I don’t see the point in doing a job etc that you don’t enjoy

I sort of wanted to retire but now might want another career path I feel like Looking into As a counsellor. Not for the money just feel maybe next step.

Just enjoy life

Very occasionally, but I usually take it as a sign that something needs to change... Whether it's a job, or relationships with other people.. Then I make those changes

Do you mean this in a religious sense?

Energy and the resources.

I often pray for a lottery win whereas I should possibly just be asking for enough to buy a ticket
