Swaphop/Tiswas

Lichfield

It’s my ‘go to’ instant personality test. ‘Tiswas was watched by Mavericks and rebels, whereas Swapshop was watched by people who did so because their mums told them to.

To be in my gang you have to know you phantom flan flingers from your spit the dogs. Anything else just wasn’t a proper childhood.

I’ve clocked the Swapshop watchers on here, they’re not hard to spot.

But will they own up to it?

TISWAS and I watched OTT as well...for those who remember

Sally James ensured that Dad watched as well

Swap Shop was for those kids who weren't brought up on a Council Estate like me...swap roller skates for a skateboard ...we had to nick them not swap them

We used to watch Swapshop but I remember watching Tiswas too. Must have been at friends houses.

I think it’s like you either watched Blue Peter or Magpie.

The Magpie/Blue Peter choice was of no real importance. It didn’t matter

Your Swapshop/Tiswas choice was as important as your choice between baggy or straight trousers. I would guess that most Swaphop fans probably own the complete works of Phil Colins

I can’t abide Phil Collins. We had a majority vote in our house and Swapshop won.

Visiting Blackpool

Clive Webb off Tiswas still tours with Circus Hilarious (mainly his family), and they really are hilarious

Plus I hand stitched my trousers and jeans to make sure they were as tight as possible.
