Does anyone else suffer mood swings?

As I'm getting older they are getting worse

I just completely over reacted to a situation and have spent the last hour of my morning off crying

I feel ridiculous.

And I just cant stop eating

Although I'm male ... yes

I had a conversation this morning with Red about man periods

I seemed to have a regular cycle of being short tempered and tearful ... and I can't explain the pattern

Yes, although mine is perimenopause related.

Sometimes i feel like a cross between Shee-ra and The Hulk.

I’m moody anyway though. So it’s just switched up a gear!

No - I hate going to the doctor.

I read a bit about it online and its basically the same thing like everything else - take exercise, no alcohol, no sugar.

I know exactly what you mean!

I'm like the female version of Victor Meldrew

I cant stop moaning!

I'm annoying myself - that's why I try to stay away from other people

I cry, am pissed off and eat everything too for the week before. And it's like I forget every month and don't know what's happening to me, then I start and am relieved I'm not just going mental!

By the week after I can sympathize with them, the week before I just want to throttle everyone . You have my sympathies just now. Blub and eat to your heart's content...it might save lives!

Yes! Since my late 30's my moods and in particular anger, have got worse, mine starts from ovulation until the period starts, so a good 2-3 weeks each 6 week period. Though since being on the pop pill it has lessened a little, I guess the hormones in them help a bit.

I completely empathise coz it's awful to go through.

I had an alert set on my period tracker which would remind me a couple of days before ovulation so I would realise that's what it was, and so I could prepare myself and sometimes others of the impending doom lmao. It's hard to control but I do little things like switch radio station when I'm driving to classic fm, calming me down as my road rage gets pretty bad with PMT. Concentrate on breathing and relaxing yourself when you feel you're getting overwhelmed, remind yourself it will pass and that it's not you, it's hormones.

Big hugs flower. Xx

It's not just the PMS and all the crying and the eating and cravings and the feeling like you are being stabbed by electrified knives through your cervix.....it's the fucking horniness that gets me, especially the night before it happens, it is completely ridiculous.

That's so true actually. Mother nature is such a bitch..."I know you look and feel at your absolute worst right now, and you can't stay awake or stop eating, but here's a big fuck off batch of horn to go with it. You're welcome!"

It could just be a hormone imbalance. In my early 30s I stopped producing oestrogen and was only producing testosterone. A chat with the doctor and a blood test sorted it along with some pills to kick start my oestrogen levels naturally

Definitely talk to your doctor if it’s getting worse. There are so many things could be causing it and so many simple solutions and yours could be one of the simple ones like so many others have said.

I went about 10 yrs ago because my family I think we’re fearing for their lives every month

After being diagnosed with PMDD and taking medication daily none of them hides from me anymore

It's definitely got worse as I've got into my late forties. Some months it's really laid me low and it's horrible to deal with.

I'm not being flippant and I hope this cheers you up..

Why does it take two women with pmt to change a lightbulb?

COS IT JUST FUCKING DOES, OK!! (bursts into tears)

I'll get me coat...

I've been the same since my younger years. I always get really moody just before I get a visit from mother nature

Yeah I'm going to book an appointment- I can't keep behaving like a lunatic!

I'll get the sack if I'm not careful.

I had to leave work as I keep bursting into tears.

Even though I know its hormones I can't control it.

I don't miss this at all! Since my hysterectomy I've only had what I call 'sympathy' symptoms when my daughter has her period due, then I break out in spots and have phantom period pain, dunno how since I have no uterus, but it is what it is.
