What's your favourite comedy series? What do you really love about it?

Was very hard to choose but I'm going to go with The League of Gentlemen. Beautifully written, dark and macabre and so funny it hurts. I'm sure I'm not the only one that knows Royston Vasey is Roy Chubby Brown's real name and that he played the mayor. But I'm such a pitiful nerd I know that his character is called Larry Vaughan because the mayor in Jaws is called Larry Vaughan

So what makes you guys laugh?

Gavin and Stacey.

Brilliantly they stopped when it was at its best and still fresh.

Ben dorm on the other hand dragged on for 3 or 4 seasons too many

I'm so happy that my son's hero is Rowan Atkinson and that he can recognise Blackadder quotes. It's one of the all time greats for sure.

We love 'the good life' but not because its really funny we just like it - feels cosy and comforting but you have to wonder why nobody had kids.

For humour we liked 'the Catherine Tate show' and 'blackadder'.

I could relate to the situations, loved the dry humour and thought the characters were fantastic

Unfortunately the humour started to dry up come season six

Rik Mayalls death broke my heart, he's such a huge figure for my generation. His partnership with Ade was one of the most petfect synchronicities in comedy.

And... Boys from the Dwarf!!

The fast show is a firm favourite from my childhood.

Phoenix nights. Which apparently may get a third season soon.

Shameless first few seasons.

Ruislip

The Goldbergs

Blackadder

Fawlty Towers

Coupling

Cabin Pressure (radio comedy)

They are/were clever and inventive with really distinctive characters. Geoff in Coupling was so ridiculously funny. I can see a lot of myself in my 20s in him.

I couldn't agree more. I was gutted when Rik died. The Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap and the Comic Strip presents were all comedy gold but Bottom was my fave

The Simpsons

Comedy on different levels, could watch it with my son when he was younger and we'd both be entertained with the different parts of the humour. It's been fun to watch it with him as he grew up and started to get the more subtle humour within it
