"I've eaten locusts on a survival course before, we had to put them on a stick and hold them in the campfire till you hear a pop, then you remove the head and legs and eat it. Tastes like popcorn." Survival course, actually learning something that could potentially one day save your life. Not for the entertainment of the mindless horde.

"Strange they don't let the so called celebrities swim with Crocs or sharks " I wish they would! That would be my kind of TV. This reality crap is just pathetic and it really is a platform for the has beens and wannabes to attention seek. As for the cruelty aspect, I agree. Not sure what is entertaining about scaring critters and eating live bugs. Just because they animals used aren't cute and furry it seems their lives hold less or no value. All life is valid, and all life has a place on earth. At least bugs are useful to the ecosystem, humans seem intent on destorying that. Bizarre.

It was with the military so yeah it was done for a good reason, the scenario being that you're cut off behind enemy lines and have to build shelter and survive off the land before you can be rescued.

"I'd it time they stopped the jungle tasks.. despite so called experts being present why can't they just leave all of those animals and insects alone.. ?" They're not using live insects and bugs in the eating tasks this year, I guess they've still killed them rather than wait for them to die of old age but at least it's a quick way to go

"I hope the animals are not killed just so that the guests can eat their private parts for entertainment. The live crocodiles, rats, scorpionsm crabs, and snakes are probably put under enormous stress as they are dumped inside a box with a screaming, hand waving, feet kicking celebrity. Wonder how many animals died from internal injuries or heart attacks. Wildlife expert Chris Packham wrote an angry letter to the show a few years ago and complained that it was portraying wild intelligent animals with a terrible negative stereotype, so that when one of those creatures are seen by the public, the public are more inclined to kill it out of fear, or frighten it into attacking because of its own desire to defend itself, and he pointed the finger of blame at the show. He said it could easily become an entertainment and 'educational' show, but I guess educational shows don't have high TV ratings. "
