It depends how it's worded.

It's always open to interpretation- the tone of the written word never comes across as you intended it.

You could put CHAVS FUCK OFF in capital letters.

That could get your point across

I'm not bothered about academic achievement, but I like intelligence and someone articulate.

I know someone with a doctorate who can barely hold a conversation - a qualification doesn't necessarily say anything about someone's personality.

That said, if someone said they were well educated it wouldn't put me off, it just wouldn't be something I'd pay particular attention to.

Not to us. If you or anybody else consider yourselves to be well educated I think it's great. I genuinely don't get the dislike of people describing themselves positively here or anywhere else.

I have used well educated to describe myself on my profile in the past. But it's not, hey I'm amazing and you suck. It was a passing, this is a bit about me, I like these kinds of conversations. If that doesn't suit someone, then fine and best of luck. It's just who I am.
